Hare Krishna!
I'm "Krishnano" which means follower of Krishna in the Esperanto language, lol. I am a follower of the Vedic teachings of Gaudiya Vaishnavism, popularly called as "Krishna Consciousness" or "Hare Krishna philosophy," and I am of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), an organisation that propagates the nonsectarian philosophy of a bona fide Vedic understanding of God for all. Gaudiya Vaishnavism in general is a practice and philosophy based on the ancient teachings of the Gita and the Bhagavata Purana (Srimad Bhagavatam), both considered the milk and cream of Vedic teachings. By these teachings we practice bhakti yoga, which means loving devotion to God. This process includes worshipping God in a temple, serving Him, surrendering to Him, remembering Him constantly, listening and reading the Scriptures, and chanting His Names. Of all these practices, we believe that chanting any bona fide Name of God (Krishna, Jehovah, Allah, Abha, Cao Dai, Amida, etc.) is the best form of bhakti yoga for this Age, and the easiest to develop pure Love of God. Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the Founder of Gaudiya Vaishnavism, taught that only by chanting the Name of God can we be able to purify our existences and remember our original, constitutional position as eternal spirit souls and servitors of the Supreme Lord. I have read the Bible, Torah, Qur'an, Dao De Jing, Dhammapada and Pure Land Sutras, some Gathas, many other Scriptures and sacred writings, and of course, the dear Bhagavad Gita. I'm also 19 years old, and turning 20 soon! ^^ I love flowers, rainbows, and religious people! I also love to cook, clean, sew, and iron, and I find these things very tranquil for my mind.Anyways, Hare Krishna! Last edited by krishnano; 09-08-2008 at 09:07 PM.. |
