Insomnia

[Distracting]

Hi, I'm new, but I won't bore you with the generic "...and this is what I believe" speech.

Rampant bouts of insomnia, I'd venture to guess, are the reason to why I am often finding myself awake late at night questioning anything and everything I can get my metaphorical hands on. More prominently, I have a problem where if I'm not learning or going over thoughts, I will, over a somewhat long period of time, become panicked and depressed from the feeling of desperation I'd get. Coincidentally, it's the primary reason I don't watch television.

I'm currently 18 (nearly 19), and as such, I know everything (all in jest, I swear). I also lied about the generic belief speech, but I'll try to put it quickly. In a nutshell, I try to accept everything as equal to everything else. I also try to always remember that, as a song lyric goes, "without the sour, the sweet wouldn't taste." I tend to be a harsh skeptic of anything I hear and anything I think I know, but appreciate what I see as subtle beauty all around me.

I hope to learn a lot while I'm here.

Welcome to the forum glad you decided to join us.....In reading your post it's not the insomnia that stands out in my mind so much as the reason for it. It is the feelings that concern me the feelings of panic, depression and desperation. Perhaps you need to see your doctor and get on some medication to help supress these feelings and also help your insomnia.
I really like your philosophy in general and I would like to encourage you to continue along the lines of the thought process that you have. You really have some beautiful and very in depth concepts.....I like them..

Well it only happens when I can't expose myself to any new ideas. Reading a good book, snooping around forums like these, and talking with friends keeps those feelings away. On average (with the exception when I decide to be in a bad mood), I am a very cheerful and very energetic person.
