Hello everyone. I think my name tells pretty much everything you will need to know about me while I am on this forum. I was born Jewish, but my parents never really forced anything on me. I am still proud of my culturally Jewish roots, because in my opinion one cannot deny the Jews have made huge contributions in human rights.

I am not too religious. One can be moral without being religious; we need only look at the wars waged by Christians and Muslims, for example, to see that religion can take an ugly face. These days I consider myself a socialist secular humanist and see opposing reactionary practices such as racism, fundamentalism, sexism, homophobia, classism, and fascism as being an important part of my beliefs. I am also a Zionist. The one thing I cannot tolerate is intolerence: this philosophy does not accept those that do not accept it.

I hope that my posting here can be insightful and allow all us to break down stereotypes and religious bigotry. I believe we must constantly seek progress beyond all else, seeking to break down barriers and all become members of the human race.

Or, for that matter, the bigotry and xenophobia of the ultra-right in Israel.

While the ultra-right in Israel is not always the most polite and does make mistakes, they are very different from the ultra-right elsewhere. Most far-right parties are based on irrational hate, but it is not necessarily so for the Israelis. Considering that Israel is under constant threat it's understandable that there would be some people willing to work a bit harder against the reactionary terrorists trying to enact genocide against innocent Jewish women and children.
