I would like to start out by saying, I am not really sure what my religion is. Maybe someone can help me classify it. I don't really believe in a christian concept of God. I probably believe more in evolution. I think its just silly that that an all powerful being just said Bam! and everything popped into existance. I do believe we have souls but I don't really believe much in Heaven or Hell. I believe our souls are energy that is released when we die. I believe that our souls can choose to live again (reincarnation) or that we can travel to another plane to become more enlightened.
As far as the Bible is concerned, I think most of it is REALLY silly. I mean, yeah it has some great stories, but I think that's all they are is stories. I think the concept of immaculate conception is crazy, the same with raising from the dead. I think most of the stories in the bible are overly exaggerating stories that were first told by word of mouth and then wrote down as best as could be remembered. I think at the front they should put, "Based on a true story" I think alot of it sounds like greek mythology and every now knows greek mythology for what it really is, a very primitive religion with beliefs based on exaggerated stories. So I don't understand why most people don't see the Bible and christianity that way. In my eyes the only difference between the two is that now there is only one God versus the multitude. So that's a little about what I believe. |

Namaste and welcome. Perhaps you are more Spiritual than Religious. As time goes by and you engage in discussions with members of other faiths perhaps you will find similarities.

Welcome to Religious Forums. From the sound of it, I think it safe to say your religion can be classified as "undecided".

Of course, I imagine that many of the Christians here would strongly disagree with my point of view. Quote:
Welcome, BTW. And I'm not sure what religion you are either. ![]() |

Thanks for the great reception everyone. I think Hemma puts it best when she said I am probably more spiritual than religious.
