I am new to this forum and this is my first posting, I had a look around the forum before I registered,
and some very interesting things caught my eye right from the start, Shytot, although I don't agree with a everything you write, I have at least noticed one thing, you are coming from your own point of view, it seems you have given life (and death) a great deal of thought, not a lot of people agree with you, or maybe, the ones who agree are not commenting. Has anyone noticed? how the female singers today, need to be half undressed when they sing!! could that have anything to do with the fact, that their voices, or the songs, are not good enough to hold our attention? And has anyone noticed how most religions need to use old ways of writing to give them weight, if the text used was in the modern idiom, I just don't think they could carry it off, it seems old is good, and the things written about, could only have happened long ago, so they must be true. As you no doubt can guess, I am not a fan of religion, I can see the need for it, but I can also see how divisive it can be, one cannot tolerate another, because in the eyes of the believer, the other is wrong, there will always be friction, and some people will always try to use that fact for their own advantage, like nationalism, drape yourself in a flag or a religion, and watch them flock around, it has always been easy to use peoples beliefs against themselves, especially during times of war, and even more so a religious war, because our God is on our side. |
