Thank you all for the nice welcome, I am British, (Welsh to be precise) and yes, I am an atheist, as are all thinking people,
(I just thought I would throw that last part into the pot, to let everyone know how I feel about religion) as I wrote before, I have read quite a few of the Forums on this site, so I know it is just a talking shop, and not a place to try and change peoples minds, they are already made up, however, I would like to ask people to imagine what it would be like to have a different religion from the one they have now,( or lack of it in my case) we can all agree that circumstances have made us think the way we do, and had things in our lives been different, we could well be thinking the exact opposite to how we think now, I suppose I am trying to say 'don't be so dogmatic', that is obviously easier to say than do, if every fibre of your being tells you that what you believe is right, it's hard to understand anyone else's views, even you Americans, you were brought up in a society drawn from all parts of the world, with more religions than you can shake a stick at, yet still maintain the one you were brought up in,is the right one, maybe I am wrong, maybe it's not THE religion that counts, maybe it's just OK that you have a religion, no matter which one. Hi browser and welcome.
I think you'll find this particular board one of the most inclusive on the net. Even the "dogmatic" ones show respect and (I believe) are able to see other's POV (moreso than many other Christian/religious boards I've visited). Hope you enjoy your stay here....
