Hello all;
I am not sure where to begin. I grew up in a non religious home, but I went to a Christian church from about 11-15 years old with a neighbor lady. I met my husband in High School. We were married the summer I finished school. He was an inactive Mormon convert. After we were married, I wanted to go to church. He wanted it to be the Mormon Church. So, I joined. I was as active as a person can be for over 30 years. Then I did some research on some things that I had questions on. I decided it was best for me to resign. DH agreed, and resigned too. That was the end of 2005. Since then I attended an American Baptist church, for about a year. We moved out of state ( he retired) and I haven’t really looked for a church to attend. I don’t really know where I belong. I think I am sort of a Christian, but not all the way. I cannot agree that the bible is 100% true, written by God and all that. I think many of the New Testament stories are metaphors used to teach principles, not necessarily minute by minute eye witness accounts. I believe Christ was a real person, with a real message that is important to us. I am just not sure how much was added to the message after His death. I believe in God, as my creator, but I don’t know anything else. I have been on another forum, for ex Mormons, and have defended my theist beliefs enough. I am not an atheist, and I really don’t want to defend myself on that matter anymore- for now anyway. I am looking for a way to worship God. I am not looking for rules to follow. I am not looking for a description of the hell I am heading for if I don’t repent. I am not looking for anyone to be between my Creator and myself. I don’t know where to look, what ( besides the Bible) to read, or who to ask. Do I belong here? |

Welcome. I'm a Catholic so I suggest you look into the Catholic Church and the Catholic Faith.

No-one does. It is the quitessential malaise of spirit that causes directly or indirectly all suffering.

And welcome to the forums. BTW, "Red Pill" is a cool username. Are you a fan of the Matrix franchise? |

I saw the Matrix movies, but am not a "nerd" about them- no offense intended. The Matrix helped me to wake up to questions about my religion I was shelving. I think I chose the red pill because I want to find out what is real, if I can. Other than this thread, I will probably lurk for a while, to see how things work here. |
