I'm a teacher but also an ordained Interfaith pastor who is working towards and within a career of working with the dying. I am pursuing a degree in pastoral thanatology at this time. I used to be a supermod at another site but ran afoul of some invisible limits of the owner, so laid low for a while and am seeking spiritual support in another venue. I have been following it here for a while and find your site interesting. I see some old friends' names here also.

Besides religious and death/dying studies, I read, make glass beads and am really into my family. I have an adopted son with Down's Syndrome.

Hope to get to know you all better!

Pastoral thanatology is pastoring to the dying, which, I find also extends to the families, and to those in chronic health issues. It is a fairly new degree program, so you are NOT un-enlightened!

a commendable field! fortunatly the family losses i have suffered happend at an early age, and i have not had any since, but i can imagine many people may want/appreciate ministry while they are grieving.
