Hey everyone,
This is my first post since I rejoined tonite. I had an account about a year ago but can't remember name or pw and such but anyway, it's good to be back. I currently attend Forest Hills Baptist Church in Burgaw, NC and I'm very active in our youth program which we call "evolved". About 2 weeks ago we held a spaghetti dinner for the older folks where we were waiters and waitresses and whatnot. After we got done, our youth minister Jeff, and 2 other guys my age plus me played some music with Jeff playing lead acoustic, Kevin on background acoustic, me on electric guitar, and Matt on drums. We played Marvelous Light, and God of Wonders. This was the first time we all performed in front of a group of people together and we recieved several comments after we were through. Our youth minister, who is attending NC State University right now decided we would get together and practice every Sunday 3-4 hours before afternoon service and may play on Sunday night. He also mentioned that maybe around a year from now we could travel around to other churches in the area and perform for them. I'm not saying were the next Casting Crowns or anything but is this how people get recognized in the world of Christian music and become well known. |

Welcome once more to RF! I wish you luck with the music! My sis is a musician, so I know how tough it is to make it.

Hi Shane,
Welcome to ReligiousForums! Ah.....getting recognised in the music industry; many a person has delved into that one; it's not easy, but it looks like you have found a way. Please feel free to check out our guide for our newer members, from which there is also a link to the Forum rules with which you need to acquaint yourself (and there is a pretty good guide on what is not forum etiquette). I hope you get to enjoy your time with us; please feel at home, and if there is anything about which you are not sure, please don't hesitate to ask. ![]()
