Em hotep,
Yet another newbie joins the ranks. I came across RF while looking for a dedicated general religious discussion forum without some kind of agenda. I've lurked around various forums in recent months, but most seem to have been basically Christian missionary forums, despite claiming to be open to all (which I suppose they were, as long as were prepared to be subjected to proselytising). I have nothing against Christians at all, but I'm happy with my religion and have no desire to change it, so I avoided joining forums with that kind of atmosphere. RF seems to be a pretty friendly and diverse bunch of people, so I figured I may as well give it a shot. I was not raised at all religious. My immediate family remains avowedly apathetic-agnostic and despite a fairly hardcore Catholic side of the extended family, I was never pressured to be involved in any particular faith. I arrived at my own faith after a period of (very) explicit atheism followed by a fairly intense spiritual search. Now, I'm an unaffiliated Kemetic and I worship Set primarily, though I do often honour other Netjeru as well when They've been active in my life or when it otherwise feels right to do so. I'm a hard polytheist, as opposed to soft polytheist or 'monolatrous', so I see each of the Netjeru as separate and distinct individuals (which is partly why I remain unaffiliated.) So that's a basic explanation of me (abridged version)! I'm looking forward to joining in the discussion! ![]()

Welcome. Thier are many more things other than religion going on here. For example, we also duscuss sex, drugs, and rock and roll, books, movies, and other things. So when there isn't any appealing religious threads, go to the material world.
