Default hey I am new! :)
I like these kinda forums and decided to join in too.

well lets see my faith is in Orthodox Judaism, but I'm not Jewish I'm what they call a Noahide or Righteous Gentile. It's an ethical system within Judaism for non-jews. I don't think it's uncommon so many here probably know what I mean.

Anyways I'm glad I stopped by hope to meet more of you soon

Well, I have never heard of that, so it is uncommon to me (but take no offense! I am theologically 'challenged' - my knowledge is limited, in that I have to admit that I know a bit about a few religions, and that this is my first 'Encounter' with yours )

great to meet you, and I certainly look forward to hearing about your beliefs - particuliarily in how they differ fro Judaism (I get the impression tou are an off shoot simply because you are a Gentile) - but please put me right on that!

Perhaps you would like to post abit more 'personal' info about yourself (hobbies etc) we are very nosey on this forum..(joke) - it does, however, help us to create an image of you, until we get to know you better.

Noahides are actually everyone that is a non-jew (it just depends on if Noahides follow their covenant or not, then they are Righteous Noahides and have a place in the world to come). We're all descended from Noah, jew and non-jew and that covenant Hashem gave Noah after the Flood is called the Noahide Covenant. The one Moses received at Mt. Sinai came later, so according to Judaism, the previous Covenant is the religion of G-d for all non-jews while Judaism is for the jews only (because they are to be the light unto the nations, and preserve the Torah for everyone), allthough non-jews are alloud to convert to Judaism if they REALLY want to (but not necessary).

So Noahides who follow Orthodox Judaism don't practice like the Jews, they just follow an ethical system that was meant for them only. This is the 7 laws Hashem gave Noah:
  • 1.Do not Curse Hashem's name. Sanctify and give Praise to Him
  • 2.Do not worship idols. Hold only the Lord Hashem in your heart
  • 3.Do not commit immoral sexual acts.
  • 4.Do not murder. Respect human life
  • 5.Do not steal. Respect others' property
  • 6.Do not eat the flesh of an animal while it is still alive. Respect animal life
  • 7.Creation of a judicial system. To enforce the other six laws in society
This is our Covenant as Gentiles who uphold Orthodox Judaism. This was the same Covenant given not only to Noah, but all the way back to Adam and Eve, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It was revealed again at Mt. Sinai in the Oral Law (Talmud), and passed from generation to generation by the Israelites, both Jews and Non-jews continued to preserve the teachings and today we are seeing a great revival of those among the nations. We are fullfilling the prophecy in the book of Amos, where there will be a famine in the land, not of hunger or thirst, but of hearing the word of Hashem. People from all over will search for the truth but will not find it. They will come to the Jews from all over and tell them: "We've heard you know G-d, let us come and learn from you."
