Greetings from Kentucky! (Earth, beliefs, soul, hell, bible)

Hello all! While I was searching for my own truth I came across this site and found it to be very interesting. I'm hoping that somebody here can help me find out what I should call myself, and hopefully find someone who believes the same as I do.

I guess to start, I shall give some basic info about me and what I believe.

Name: James David Clay Ryan

Age: 20 (21 come July 6)

Location: Nicholasville, Kentucky

Religion I feel I'm closest to: LaVeyan Satanism

Why I don't declare myself as such: I don't have as harsh feelings towards my 'enemies' as they, I believe in a different style of magick, I have more specific beliefs about the world than is documented by Satanist, and I don't want to declare myself a satanist until I know my beliefs coincide with theirs enough.

My Beliefs: I believe that all things produce energy (you could call this a soul or spirit I guess, I choose not to). This energy can interact with matter, and matter can interact with energy. This explains my ideals in magick. I feel that we (the matter) produce and interact with the energy of the Earth (to be more local) to get what we desire at the time. I hope this makes sense, as I find it hard to tell if it makes sense to everyone else.

I don't beleive in a god, as this brings the idea that I believe in a sentient being. I feel that there is no one watching us, or guiding us. I don't believe in an afterlife, but that our matter and energy change (as the scientific belief that matter and energy cannot be created nor destroyed). Our bodies (the matter) decompose and become one with the earth (I tend to call the earth our mother as it is the matter that we all stem from, and return to) and our energy (the lifeforce we produce) disperses into the universe.

I find myself believing a lot of what the Satanic Bible says, but with my own reasons for what is discussed. I do believe humans are animals and shouldn't be expected to attempt to act higher than that. I believe that we should embrace the 7 deadly sins as that is what it is our nature to do. I believe the gods of the world are just the thought-forms from people who strongly believe in something, and will one day cease to exist in any realm. I don't much like going the way of the left-hand path, just as I don't like going the way of the right-hand path. I feel that just like the energy of the universe I should also embrace a form of neutrality, therefore I do not believe in light or dark paths, but one of the middle ground.

I probably could go on for a long time, but I know that I've probably taken too much time away from those who read this, so I shall end now and explain more if asked.

Note: I hope that I don't come off as stupid or illogical. All this makes sense in my head, but putting it in text is difficult.

why not spend a bit of time on all the forums seeing how the other members clarify and confuse each other. Really there is a lot here and a lot of very different viewpoints, you soon start thinking you know the most vocal ones, then you read something that Gives you a real jolt up the backside.

Enjoy, learn but take your time. At 20 you may be in a hurry, but time you should have.
