Ohh.. I hate introductions.. im not the type to revel in attention..

Im 25, Studying Architecture and in final year.. its been too long..
I consider myself to be a Part-Nihilistic, Post-Marxist, Atheist.
I grew up in an Atheist family in England (Im English for all intents and purposes but my mother is Dutch), but I maintain that my parents never knowingly forced their beliefs onto me. They never taught me against religion - but they never took me to church etc.. I was taught stories of the bible and took part in the nativity as a child.. but of course without parents encoraging an acceptance of these teachings I regarded them in the same light as Santa Claus and the Toothfairy. I still regard them in this light.
I never actually found out they were Atheists until I was 15 - although it should have been obvious... but my parents maintained the role of Devils Advocate. They would question what I believed (on all sorts of issues).. no matter that I said I didnt believe in God.. they didnt tell me that was right or wrong.. they just asked me to justify my belief.
Good parenting in my opinion. Let the child come to his/her own conclusions.

Absolutely wonderful parents. I hope they realize how cool they are Friendly debate is one of the best things a child can experience....it teaches them to question, be polite, and reason.

Problem is defining Nihilism.. under psychology it is seen as a delusion.. where you believe you dont exist. I clearly believe I exist.. so im guessing - since I havent actually studied nihilism - that my belief is something somewhat different..

I think everyone should study what they believe in, personally. Perhaps you would be interested in solipsism? That's my pet philosophy Check it out in the philosophy forum.
