Not that I'm aware of. The directions are still the same directions in the southern hemisphere, even if the seasons differ. I've never actually seen anything that would elude to that, though I can see why that might be thought of that way.

I guess with being in the Southern Hemisphere you just have some interpretations to make of your own. If you feel that the North is more connected to fire for you and the south to earth, then do it like that by all means.

I am pulled towards the West, after facing all four cardinal directions. I don't know why, it just feels right to me. I think perhaps I like to face the Setting Sun.

My thinking was that fire would be associated with the sun, and therefore, being in the southern hemisphere, that the direction would be north because that's where the sun is.

I always sat north facing south because it felt natural to me.

Perhaps some people are more senstive to the Earth's magnetic fields than others.

That's why I said that I could see how it could be thought of that way. I admit, I've never heard any definitions for southern hemisphere directions. Which, again, I say is why you should do what feels right and natural to you. It makes sense, so do it that way.
