Definitely Diana (not Artemis
, but the pre-Roman version of Diana, also called Dana or Tana). She's a lot more interesting than Artemis and the Roman version of Diana, found in wild places and lakes, and patron of outcasts, witches, unmarried women (virgins is just the result of a bad translation), luck, and a host of other good things/people. I also like (and no, she's not pagan) Holy Mary, Star of the Sea (why does that sound so much better in Latin?)And on the male side, I like Pan (who doesn't), but haven't had luck establishing a working relationship in spells, so to speak. So I'll skip over pantheons to Wales and go with Taliesin (although with all those incarnations, he may count as more than one God.) This comes from a combined interest in folk and pagan music, and a love of dragonflies. My least favorite God at the moment is either Hurican or Neptune, whoever was to blame for last summer. nmr |

I follow Innana. She is The sumerian Queen of Heaven and Earth and also a goddess of love. She also figures in one of the earliest of the descent into the underworld myths when she went to challenge Erishkigal for the rule of the underworld. That didn't go so well though. Another thing she did was to trick lord Enki out of much of the knowledge that the people needed to survive.

I can see that there is a lot of collective pagan knowledge here, so I I'm gonna ask a question.
Since I acknowledged my non-Christian beliefs and began searching spiritually, I've been seeing a lot of hawks. I normally would'nt find this strange, except I think it might be a sign of something. I know some gods are associated with hawks, but I haven't really read of any that make sense in this situation. 1) Every time I see a hawk, I'm the only one that sees it. Its not that the bird is invisible, it simply appears in such a way that I happen to be the only one paying attention. 2) At least three of them(including the very first one) where carrying a dead snake. The rest where carrying nothing. 3) They always appear during the day(which is normal) and are usually flying. 4) Nearly all of them where red-tailed hawks. That probably means nothing, since thats the most common hawk in my area. The rest where ospreys. So I'm guessing one of three things. Its a sign of some diety, its a symbol of some kind, or its pure coincidence and I'm overreacting. Last edited by Real Sorceror; 08-31-2006 at 10:16 AM. Reason: some spelling errors |

i find manifestations and deptictions of the divine all over the world to be facinating, beautiful, and cool beyond what my own little brain could ever imagine.
i'm especially fond of Saraswati, Vishnu, Quetzacoatl, and Lauryn Hill.
