Does anyone else here get requests from non-Wiccans/witches for spells to be done for them? I had that happen tonight. I have a strict policy that I don't interfere in other's lives like that and they don't seem to understand that. If it is something worthy then I can see it, but for petty things and interference in relationships,...no way. I tried to explain things to him and I think it went well and he understood what I was saying to him.
Anyone else have this happen? And if so, what is your stance on it?

I like the idea of magic and spells and such...and I agree if someone wants to have a little extra luck or something similar and wants to achieve this with witchcraft...as long as it doesn't interfere in a bad way with someone else's life.

I got asked that a few times at school. I would tell people if it was a form of control, such as a spell to make someone love you, I wont do it. But if its for a simple change in luck, to be noticed a bit more, protection, healing, or something of that nature, I will do it.
I would charge the price of candles, oils, and the other stuff, plus 10 dollars. I don't like charging, but some stuff, such as essential oils are expensive, and I don't like to be taken advantage of.

Luke Wolf I agree with you on the matter of protection and healing and such. What gets me is that this guy wanted a spell to make this woman leave her husband because he has fallen in love with her. I won't be a part of that at all. Also he wanted a spell for the return of a book about the band KISS. Someone borrowed it and hadn't returned it. I don't know, but that is to me at least, too petty a thing to bother the magic forces with. I told him somethings should just be handled in the normal way and if that doesn't work need to be chalked up to "stuff happens". Little stuff happens to everyone and you don't do magic to make everything perfect and the way you want it to be.

I'm asked this all the time, as am I constantly asked for me to "give" people spells so that they may try them themselves.
Of the first situation: I rarely do spells myself, as I prefer to work things out on my own before I bother the magick forces with anything. If, however, certain things cannot be worked out on my own, or I wish something to change that I have no control over (i.e. the healing of someone I care about, etc. etc.), only then will I break out the Book of Shadows. Magick isn't something to play with or take lightly, nor is it something to use in order to change everyday things, as Draka said. Most non-Wiccans (or people not of any witchcraft religion) don't understand that, and that is why they ask. The ONLY time I will indulge them is if it's something of dire importance, such as an extremely sick family member needing a healing spell or something, other than that, I will not help. It's not that I don't want to, nor that I don't care, it's just that magick isn't something to be used for anything and everything. I'm not one to jump to the magicks for the smallest thing. As for people asking me to give them spells; I HATE this. I despise when people who have never attempted anything, people who have never studied, etc. just ask me to give them spells. "I've read a book, give me a spell." Uh..no, I don't think so. A lot of people who don't practice don't understand that magick can be quite a dangerous thing and it's not something to play with. If someone I know, someone who's been practicing for a while, asks me for a spell because they don't have one of their own, then by all means, I'll help them. Prima once asked around for a spell and I gave her one that's worked for me before, I don't know if she tried it or not, but I knew she was experienced, so I helped, other than that, there's a big check in the NO column for giving spells.

For me, not really. The people I tend to be around tend to either fall on the extreme of being able to do the spell themselves or they do not believe in magic. I fear I ask people to do spells for me, if they're willing, just like other religions might ask someone else to pray for them.

Greetings!
I think it's a factor of curiosity. Or selfishness. But for I, it is curiosity. I have always been interested in magic, alchemy, and all of that. But I don't know where to find such things. I lookedd up alchemy, but I couldn't read all that. I would like to know how to perform spells, and do any conjuring up of sorts. But I know nothing of the ways of real magic, so I think I'll have to do more research before I maybe TRY any of these spells Iself. I'm interested in learning bout this, anyone care to tell I a spell so I may learn? Jah Bless. Ras Evan

I never give out spells.I believe that if someone is ready to do a spell then they are ready to write it themselves.
As for doing a spell for someone it depends on what they want.

There are soooo many problems with the first request , that I'm not even going to start on them . And the second ... well , your friend appears to lack personal power of his own , in both cases . You would have done him no favour by casting the spell for him . Power is like the old saying " Give a man a fish , and you feed him for the day . Teach him to fish , and you feed him for life ".
