That's just it Kreedon. It IS the Earth that has an influence. The location of the sun and the planets in respect to our Earth view is entirely dependant on the angle and degree of the Earth in it's orbit at the time of viewing. It is much the same as knowing where you are in your car when driving and looking out the window. It is all a matter of views from particular angles.
