I actually agree. I mean, what kind of album would this kid put out? Nothing but remakes of old ballads? He's just not contemporary at all. And it's really not him doing all the changing anyway...it's stage-dad from hell who's doing all that. Last I read his dad has had his backstage pass pulled and is banned from practices as well. Guess he cost American Idol some money and some trouble by changing what David A was going to sing by making him include lyrics from an unapproved song they didn't have permission for.

Now, David Cook is phenomenal. And while, yes, Syesha would do great on Broadway, I believe she could do so much more. She improves greatly from week to week and her voice is just stunning.

Okay, we're down to the Davids.
Obviously I'm biased for Archuletta; but you've got to give him some credit. Being a high school student, he has had to keep up with his school work the whole season. That on top of the Idol demands.

None of the others had to do that.

David Cook should be the winner. He wins and we will have 3 actual winners that were the best of their season. The others were Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.

Unfortunately American Idol has regressed many times to a popularity contest instead of a talent contest. Causing us to have such winners as Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard and Fantasia Barrino. Where we should have had Chris Daughtry, Clay Aiken, and Diana DeGarmo. Fact is, American Idol has primed certain people to win. I don't know why they pick the ones they do, but they do.

I agree, especially with Kelly and Carrie and the other ones. Doesn't it say something that the people that won in certain years have not done anything and the ones that didn't win have had a good musical start to their career? Anyway, Archuletta is one of the most annoying contestants that I can think of (with the exception of Sanjaya). I don't understand the fascination with him. He CAN'T sing. I guess he has the tweeners vote though.

I shamefully forgot about Jordin Sparks. Poor girl. Such a powerful and wonderful instrument, only to be injured and can't sing now.

I love David A's singing and would actually buy it. Can't explain myself at all. Normally I'm such a logical person.

What happened to her? I agree that she deserved to win last year. Really liked her.

She had some illness that affected her throat and caused a vocal chord hemorrage. I just checked for some info on it and according to her fan site she is on the mend. Here's a blip I found somewhere and a link to her fan site as well.

Guess I wasn't apprised of the latest. What seems bad is, from what I could tell, she got sick and probably tried to perform through it and that's how it got hurt. Of course there are people being snide and saying that she couldn't sing anyway and just over strained herself trying to hit notes she couldn't hit. Why do some people have to be so snide?

David Archiluleta has a lot going for him. The only problem I have is that he always looks like he is either going to cry or he just looks like he is sick. He also looks like he needs sleep. He's a good singer but I have a feeling that his father is preasuring him too much.

I feel that David Cook should win because the judges always give him a good review. He takes chances and has a great voice. I can't wait to go to work and watch it. WOW! I get paid to watch American Idol.
