My wife is watching Japanese TV right now and Hard Gay is on stage doing an Elvis impersonation, singing Jailhouse Rock --- complete with gyrating hips and lots of "Hooooo!"

I thought it was pretty funny.

The only thing I wasn't too crazy about was the playground scene. I wouldn't want anyone acting that way around my children and I thought the way he was acting (the slide) was kind of inappropriate.

Other than that...I don't see why his act is any different than anything else you see on late night TV.

I love Hard Gay. He cracks me up, and I don't personally know any gay people offended by him. I believe evearael is right in that he's making fun of stereotypes; Japan seems to have a thing for poking fun at Western stereotypes.

I think the only place we'd ever see Hard Gay on US television would be Comedy Central. It's a pity, but we can watch him all we want on the internet.

My absolute favorite Hard Gay video is the one where he walks in on a business meeting at one of the Yahoo! buildings in Japan and offers to be their mascot, then when they refuse he auctions off his hat on Yahoo! auctions to show how popular he is.
