I'm curious to know about what everyone's opinion is on online religious communities and organizations? There's a signifcant increase on religious activity on the internet over the years (activities such as discussion groups, theological debates, facilitating prayers, virtual pilgrimages etc); but how has that affected the regular religious communities? What are the advantages and disadvantages to these online religious experiences? And how has online communities helped or changed your personal experience with your religious beliefs?
Feel free to send me a private message ![]() THANKS! |

well, the internet as a source of freely available information is a double edged sword for my religion, and a lot of others. the internet and online discussion groups and forums and the like are certainly good for perpetuating decent information about Paganism in it's many forms, but at the same time, a lot of rubbish information gets spread at the same time.
but as they say, no publicity is bad publicity, and if it gets people thinking about it, then the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
