My thread Christian: The Need for a Fresh Word from God has caught some attention from followers of other religions.
I put in in same-faith debates because insights from followers of other religions are de facto speaking from a point of view that would exclude specific Christian problems which could hinder reception of God's voice, like dogmatic adherence to Church and Scripture, for example. Do we need a fresh word from God? (edit - feel free to quote statements from the other thread if you'd like to discuss them here)

Ever see (in a movie, for example) a person frantically trying to give life to a person who's unconscious? That's what evangelicals have been trying to do to Scripture for the past hundred years.

Can you explain what you mean when you say LDS beliefs are neo-platonic?

EDIT: By the way, I don't mess with LDS theology anymore. Too slippery for me to identify in the first place and then to compare it to something else is just not worth whatever energy I put into it.

Yes I'm happy you moved the thread, i couldn't respond cause it said
Christians at the start of the thread, God Almighty already sent a fresh word after Jesus Christ, 1400 years ago. This was prophesied in the Gospel of John, and other places but Johns Gospel is really clear and irrefutable. |

You run away from commenting on it, but throw a couple daggers like "slippery" and "not worth whatever enery." Weak, man. Really weak. |

Frankly, I could care less what you think of it. I'm quite honest when I say I don't have the time to do it, and if that's not good enough for you, that's not my problem.
