I agree. Not a 'new' message, but a perhaps 'culturally relevant' message. Someone who can look at the Scriptures and explain it with more forethought and understanding to the average person living in the 21st Century. SO much meaning gets lost because of cultural differences.

From some works I've read and from things I've come to conclude myself, I doubt that any true, honest word directly from god would be taken as such. People have put far too much emphasis from the WORDS of god that were written so long ago, that I feel should be considered out-of-date, and were it any kind of food, would be crawling with fungus long ago evolved to have legs and moved on. Were there more emphasis on the experience of god, then maybe I could see direct words being taken as truthful, but then direct words would no longer be needed, as we have the experience instead, which is much a much more powerful communicator. Experience not words. That's the way I see it. I see people as being too deluded with their present idea of god that were god actually to directly speak/write to them, they would immediately dismiss it as devil works.
I don't see any fresh direct words having too much effect on the general population. God cannot tell you it's truth, until you stop telling it yours!
