Another Bible and its form probably wouldn't BE beneficial to most people. Most people would feel it's redundant and impractical. Even if it were handwritten by MYself, it would still come under scrutiny. It would also not BE in MY best interest to interfere with the beliefs of humankind. EveryONE is entitled to form his or her own beliefs.

Greetings Angellous. Thank you for opening this additional thread for non-Christians. I took a couple of quotes from the prior Christian-only thread as you have allowed. In my view the message from Christianity (as for other religions) is still real and pertinent but fresh words and new perspectives may revitalize it for many people.

In my working career of the past it came to my attention more than once that the very individual spotting a problem was the best one to solve it. Did you ever consider that you may be the one to provide the 'fresh words?'

My thoughts agree with those Christians that indicated the message of Love from Jesus as Christ is timeless. The Being is the message of love, kindness, peace, joy, and generosity which is as pertinent today as then. In my discussions with Theologians and Philosophers some 40 years ago it was always indicated that the Theologian's prime job is to express the Christian message in fresh words suitable for the contemporary human. Paul Tillich was a Theologian who wrote in his books that his job was to do such a re couching - which he did. Are not Theologians working it today?

I agree that the 'unity continues today.' Also, in my view the Divine-Human Being, Jesus as Christ, is the original, timeless, and most valuable message that perhaps does need new expression for modern humans. Again, the Being is the message and the key is that such a Divine-human Being is potential for us. The Christian word used in some circles is Theosis. It is not outdated. It was Paul in the second letter to the Corinthians who said 'if anyone is in union with Christ he is a new being; the old state of things has passed away; there is a new state of things.' I agree with Tillich in that Christianity is the message of the New Creation - the New Being - the New Reality.

I appreciate the insight, but I don't claim this nor is it my goal. I am starting to experiment in theology at the request of some of my mentors, but I will step out of the way and allow God to speak - if indeed God is alive.

I'm sure that they are. I'm actually studying Tillich now. I read him several years ago, and perhaps he's going to be one of the minds that shapes my thinking.
