Let me clarify there's a difference between having a religion, and having a faith.

You may find this to be interesting:

Quote:
Many religious people make the mistake of assuming that atheism is a one-way ticket to hell. The fact is that God cares very little about a person's religion or non-religion as revealed by some of the NDE accounts profiled on this website. The only thing that really matters is the spiritual condition of the heart.

My experience has been that when an atheist tells me they don't believe in God, they really mean they don't believe in the Christian God or any God from any religion. From the NDE perspective, I can agree with this. Many atheists reject a spirit world for one reason or another and they generally do so because they have a strict scientific perspective of reality.

Many scientific atheists devote their entire life studying the laws of nature and, to them, this may be their form of divine devotion whether they know it or not. In fact, because of this, I submit to you that a large percentage of such scientists are closer to spirituality than many religionists.

Don't presume to tell me what I need. I try to repect your beliefs, you could show the same courtesy.

Baloney. Scripture, the way you use it, is toilet paper. Sorry, but this is something you simply have to understand.

Isa 8:18-20
(18) Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mountZion.
(19) And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
(20) To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

The word Matrix is in Job so what is death? Some called that sleeping?
God is the Lord of the Living or Lord of Hosts, meaning all life is God, doesn’t say much for finding him in dead trees though….

So you're saying he should believe just so his fear of death goes away?

Wow! What a neat experience it was reading through this thread. It contains so much truth! I've learned a lot from reading it.

Religions today are packed full of human error and interpretation. As proof of this, look at all the religions and how much they contradict each other. But most of these contradictions are on the edges. Problems arise when everything within a single religion is accepted on blind faith.

I think it is common for people to reject the simple truths within a religion because of the various man-made ornamentations within it. I think that it is a good thing when people reach a point where they desire the real truth so much that they begin to question everything they have been taught. The imortant thing is to never give up the search for truth. I think that most people will be able to find it right where they started, hidden all along.

Read this thread! Can you see it? People from all different starting points and religious afiliation have sought out true knowledge. On the outside we may all have different labels, but inside, we all have found the same basic, simple truths. The truth is there, inside of us... Wow... Beautiful.

Someone said it better than I ever could:

He who hath ears to hear, let him hear...
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free!
