Thanks, Leonne! ![]() I still have to post pics from A Chorus Line. The photo CD is at the theatre box office waiting for me to pick it up. But if there will be pics of the set, lighting design, stage, and fully clothed cast from Lysistrata, I'll post them here, too. ![]() I love this script. Everytime I read over it I break out in fits of laughter. This is like an ancient Greek version of Saturday Night Live. Peace, Mystic |

Hey, everyone! We are now in the middle of our weekend run of Lysistrata, and so far so good.
The cast and crew have been extremely open-minded and hardworking. They have taken constructive criticism so well and have learned to work with it. I have really enjoyed working with the director, who has done so well with this show. We'd had some problems working with the composer of the music for the show, since it felt like we were pulling teeth to get him to get the work done, but somehow everything came together the week of opening night, which was Wednesday. We've had two formal critiques of the show, and every aspect of the show has been deemed, "delightful" and "outrageously funny." One critique was only confused of some of the intentions of the characters for certain monologues and such, but otherwise the show as a whole has been garnering great support. The best part has been watching the word of mouth go around. Opening night saw the audience as half-full. Last night was nearly a full house. This has been also with limited advertising for the show. And the best news was this: I received word yesterday that I am receiving a bonus on my contract for doing "exceptional work." Thanks for all your support everyone! With only two shows left, all of it has happened too fast. ![]() Peace, Mystic |

Oh I'd so love to be there watching you! Congratulations on your bonus! Could you share pictures again? Best of good wishes for the remainder of the show.
Have I told you my daughter is a theater major? She's in a play in two weeks where she has to kiss someone passionately for the first time. She called me yesterday almost in tears because she feels like she's cheating on her boyfriend. Poor thing. My husband's son is also a theater major as well and goes to the same university as my daughter. How's that for kismet? Keep us posted dear with all the juicy details for the rest of the run. ![]() |

Congrats Mystic! That's a great accomplishment. I wish I were still in St. Louis to see it. When will you be in Denver?

Thanks, Rhonda! I'm not sure if I'll be getting my hands on any pics. For some reason, they're more touchy about pics than the last show I was a part of. But I'll definitely try. There's only one pic of me with the crew and the design staff, and the rest is the publicity photos of the cast. Quote:
Oh, I so feel for your daughter. It takes a whole lot of understanding for anyone to be involved with a performance artist, since there very well may be instances where one should act intimately with another person on stage...........and then knowing that your lover has to rehearse it again and again to get it right! Lots of patience. Lots of understanding. And this is from both sides. If it makes your daughter feel any better, my husband and I both would never think she's cheating on her boyfriend. Steve has had to deal with quite a bit, including my work in this show, which has all kinds of phallic symbols, pelvic thrusts, partner sexual innuendo, and anything else under the sun where I'd had to do some kind of demonstration. Big hugs for your daughter and her man. ![]() Quote:
Will do! Quote:
If only I were able to travel in theatre, but at the moment I'd be too much away from my family. If I do anything 5-10 years from now where I'd find myself coming to your town, you'll be the first to know. Peace, Mystic |
