Friend Francine,
Firstly do not that you are a full Taoist now, have dropped the Chritian tag. Will that be death and decay? No, out of the old springs forth new that change is eternal. Death is not a finality but only a transformation. Cannot say it is progrss because nature seekd balance and in its totality remains at the same place except our minds see them differently. When one is born as a child the mind is not active and so the child acts naturally even in the CHAOS all around he is not affected but slowly the mind /serpent raises its hood and the individual becomes part of that chaos. The whole excercise is to be like children as Jesus had said be child like and you will be in heaven. Heaven I mean that one with nature which in itself is the garden of eden. Love & rgds |

After Chuang Tze's wife died, he said, "At the very beginning, she was not living, having no form, nor even substance. But somehow or other, there was then her substance, then her form, then her life. Now by a further change, she has died. The whole process is like the sequence of the four seasons, while she is thus lying in the great mansion of the universe, for me to go about weeping and wailing would be proclaim myself ignorant of the natural laws. Therefore I stop mourning."

The skillful achieve their purposes and stop. They dare not rely on force. They achieve their purposes, but do not glory in them. They achieve their purposes, but do not celebrate them.

Friend Francine,
When one has not done anything or achieved anything; such a person always celebrates as nature is celebrating every minute. What the skillfull does or does not, is their concern as their doing as you state is from some desire as the feeling of achivement comes from desire/ purpose. The mind is still active in subtle manners. Love & rgds |
