A friend of mine (a girlfriend, actually) is looking into Taoism as best she can. There aren't many resources available for her, so she's very limited in how deep her research can go. Any suggestions as to where I could point her?

Michel that's a good page of links. I'd not seen that short essay by Judith Berling before. It has to be the best general summary of Taoism I've ever read!
Druidus is the research personal or academic? |

There are some great taoist texts here...
http://www.sacred-texts.com/tao/index.htm Also, if she could somehow get her hands on Huston Smith's "The World's Religions", he has an excellent summary of Taoism. I also would like to know whether her interest is personal or academic.

It's personal. She would like to become a Taoist, after she reads more about it.
Thanks for the links so far, guys!

For someone who has no knowledge of Tao, the stream analogy may not be understood. Unfortunately. Wonderful sites.

Although you may not think so, books like Taoism for Dummies and The Complete Idiots Guide to Taoism are actually quite good! You should consider checking those out!

I'm sure they are Doktormartini. Since Taoism encourages simplifying & paring away of social/mental conditioning to reveal what was never lost the titles of those books sound very appropriate
