Hi Guys how's it hanging

Been attempting (o so poorly) to learn the process and meanings of the I Ching.

How many of you use the oracles (i Ching or otherwise)?

What has helped you come to grips with reading the oracle.

Any tips for a newbie flying solo???

When I started reading the I-Ching, my biggest obstacle was understanding the ancient chinese understanding. From a western point of view, reading "thunder over sky (heaven)" would clearly bring upon a sense of a storm, a negative connotation, etc... But instead it represents positive energy. A gathering of strength and the urge to take advantage of favorable conditions. It is a very positive hexagram indeed.

IMHO, using the I Ching on a contant basis will wear you out. Only consult the oracle when you are at wit's end. Then take the advice and think upon it. Meditate and enter into communion with the Dao. Become like Water!
