What does it mean to believe?

Is it a warm and fuzzy feeling?

Believing means to have faith. Having faith requires that we be faithful to that which we have faith in. True faith is alive and vibrant, not stagnant, not dead. It is evidenced by the way in which we respond to the gift of Christ's grace.

God does not love all mankind and could not sent his son as a result of this. A simple example of this is Romans 9:13. There are other examples that God made it clear that he hated the sinner as much as the sin and he also referred to them as an abomination.

Romans 9:13(KJV) As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

The world also does necessarily men all of planet earth. Please see Luke 2:1. Caesar did not send out a decree to tax people in South America.
