Right. I have been on forums in the past where if you aren't a member of the said forum (like religious or political beliefs) you can't actively post and all so I just wanted to make sure since I'm still new to the forums.

Soviet Empire? No; not presently. I don't participate much in socialist, communist, and anarchist communities. I like to divert my time towards message boards without a large showing from the "left." Of course my biggest efforts are done off-line.

And you're right to a degree. In any of these forums for specific religions or political beliefs (basically anything not labelled "debate"), the idea is for only people of that philosophy to post there, and people with polite questions just for informational purposes. You were right for asking, but the answer is that, here, Communism is close enough to be under the "Socialist" umbrella. Now, in any of the debate forums here, you can freely express any of your views, as long as you don't personally attack someone and you don't proselytize.

Right. I just like having a little place to go online where you can just chat with like minded people without people debating you on every little thing.

Well I don't mean debating I mean just talking and participating in general. Well to me you can't have one without the other. Socialism utopia is communism and you can't have communism without socialism. I was recently at the YPSL and they had a discussion about it and majority of them there in the post's I saw didn't want to associate with a Commie cause we're too radical.

I understand. If you're socialist or communist you are welcome to debate those topics here, but not to the point of debating from a different philosophy. That's all. I know the term "Commie" and "communist" have become very charged, but you are welcome here for sure. I don't get into politics much, but I consider myself a socialist, and don't consider myself far from a communist. Anyway, let's just say welcome to the boards, glad to have you, and post all you want in here.

Thanks. I'm still getting the hang of everything so I'm sure someone will guide me in the right direction if I get off track. For the most part everyone's been pretty cool and helpful.
