Hi everyone
Im new here, and just wanted to say hi. This is my first visit here, and its pretty cool. I also wanted to say I found something cool the other day...! On ulcseminary.org they have a new degree I just learned about. Its called the Dr. of Shamanism Degree, and you get a certificate and stuff after you take the class. Has anyone else seen this? Just thought someone might find it interesting....I did. Anyways, if you want, check it out and tell me what you think about it...I think its cool that we are being recognized by them, and having a Dr. of Shamanism Degree would be awesome I think. Does anyone else know about this? |

Welcome to RF, and I know a few people who have minister 'licenses' without spending a day in seminary or a Sunday morning in church.
I wouldn't trust a doctor or lawyer who 'earned' a degree over the internet and can't think of a reason I'd trust a spiritual advisor who trained simliarly either. It should make for good reading, though. |

Welcome to the forums! I hope you have a great time here
feel free to post away, and ask questions if you need help!I agree with all of you. Are they necessarily a good way to judge spiritual fitness? No. But like ForeverMan said, the great thing is that it's recognized.

The ULC Seminary maybe accreditted in the state of California and "seminaries" of this kind are usually accredited by organizations set up for just the purpose of lending "authority" to the seminary - many of them out there.
No doctorate degree of 4 credit hours can compare to a doctorate accreditied from a national organization. It might be helpful for learning abot shamanism and a certificate to hang on the wall if you set up your own practice but it has no real value in the academic world. Let the buyer beware |
