I'm curious, is there anyone here who would say that for two men to walk hand in hand down the street where you live would be unacceptable? I live in a small city in ontario canada, and I've seen occasionally two men or two women holding hands walking down the street, and except for the fact that most people do a double take to verify that they did in fact see it, I don't think they take any flack for it.
Is there anyone here who thinks it just couldn't happen where you live?

In some neighborhoods, it's as accepted as Hetero PDAs.
In others where I live, homosexuals would get a lot of dirty looks for "shoving their sexuality down everyone's throats." That's quite a change in a generation....years ago they would be shunned at best or attacked at worst. With bated breath, I see hope in the future where homosexual couples are left alone like everyone else.

In my country, people go to gay bars looking to beat or kill a homosexual.
But I suppose it depends on where you live. Pensacola was in the top five gay friendliest cities in American a few years ago! If I rejected a homosexuals ability to hold hands or kiss in public, I should certainly start fixing myself, beginning with ******* in parking lots.

Not a big deal here though people will still stare for a few extra moments before looking away and forgetting about it.

Around here I think most people are accepting of it, and if they aren't, they just give a disgusted look but don't say or do anything. I'm sure there are some people around here who might say something or try to start some ****, but I haven't really heard too much of a distaste toward gay people. My town is pretty good about things like that, I think. We are a college town, so there's a huge population of young people except in the summer. And I think generally it's older people who are most opposed to things like this, because it was socially unacceptable for most of their lives.
Also, these days almost everyone has a friend or relative who is gay. It would be difficult to have a problem with it unless you were willing to lose friends and disown family members over your intolerance. Of course, I know people do that, but it's harder to be discriminatory when those who you are discriminating against are becoming more and more of a larger population.

I feel bad for gay dudes since they seem to really get the rough end of the stick here. It seems to be much more socially acceptable to be a lesbian than a gay man, especially when it comes to showing affection.
