I think that disallowing them to perform in pornography would be more demeaning and enslaving than allowing them.

Let's face it, sex is a basic element to the human condition. It's going to show up in any art form, including video, photography, literature, etc. Saying that it demeans women defines a woman's sexuality for her, which is a form of enslavement.

Hmm, very good point.

But can I ask, can pornography hurt the image of women, whether she enjoys it or not?

There are porn actresses who enjoy their "rape" scenes, and what not, but the ultimate image at the end does not depict this...

It may. The problem appears to be in the type of pornography, or pornography produced without the individual's consent.

Is it more demeaning or enslaving to not allow a woman to express her sexuality, or to interpret her sexuality in a particular way? I think that the problem of depiction will always be there regardless; there's danger and risk in someone putting themselves out there.
