I thought this an interesting article about a controversial Super Bowl commercial. It's a shame that advertisers can't practice a bit of common sense.

The commercial, which first aired in the U.S. during the Super Bowl, showed two burly mechanics sharing a Snickers bar by eating it from both ends. When their mouths touch, they feel the need to “do something manly” and start ripping out chunks of their own chest hair. What some consider more shockingly anti-gay, though, was a Web site that urged visitors to vote on alternative endings to the commercial – including one in which one of the mechanics beats the other with a wrench and one in which the men guzzle motor oil. The site also showed clips of NFL players reacting with disgust at the depiction of two men kissing.

Yeah, I saw that commercial on the news yesterday. It was, at best, tacky.
It makes the light brite fiasco in Boston look downright intelligent. ![]() Anything for a buck, eh? |

Yeah, it was a little homophobic in my estimation, but, I also think Snickers gained nothing from it at all....it was not a good commercial, just stupid. Not stupid enough to keep their name in my mind, though. Let it die the death it deserves.
