I don't have one of Him yet.
I worship multiple Deities from Ancient Egyptian Mythology and I am hoping to find one of Him that would match the statues I have of some of the Others. I figured if I spotted one that one of you guys had and it fit with the rest I could find out where you got it from. ![]()

Nobody wishes to share?
Well it's okay but since you guys know Set at a glance I ask for your help. The statue theme I am going with is Gods and Goddesses made from pewter and gold plated. They should be between 3 and 4 inches in height. While I am not Setian, I do respect all Egyptian Gods and Goddesses without fail, so you don't have to worry about me doing something bad with His statue. If anyone knows where I can find a statue of Him that fits the above specs, please let me know in this thread, a PM, or even a profile message. I will stick some of my other statue pics here to give you an idea of what I am looking for...![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() (Statues pictured are not to scale with each other. They are all between 3 and 4 inches in height.)

enchanted one :
There are companies out there which would make such statues, however I am currently not aware of any. Regarding the 'look' of representations of Set I would encourage reading Don Webb's "Seven Faces of Darkness", as there is much of historical use as well as praxis to be found in there. From what I understand in Ipsissmus Webb's book representations of Set were usually colored red, which had been seen as the color of evil in ancient Khem/Egypt. Though since black is today more often seen as the color of 'evil' Webb suggests that for practical usage the color might be more fighting in the modern context. Hopefully that helps some. In all honesty I am curious as to your interest in a statue of Set? I see you list Khemetic Wiccan, am not familiar with the practices involved therein, though I have talked to some Khemetic reonstructionists in the past. Xeper & Remanifest! - Werden |

Also on an interesting note there is an interesting relationship between Anubis and Set which evolved/changed over time. Don Webb goes into this as well in "Seven Faces of Darkness", and even if you do not agree with the philosophy or practice presented Uncle Setnakt's books are always inspirational, witty, and "Seven Faces" is definitely quite scholarly.

If I understand Setians, you are free thinkers. You would rather form your own opinion that take someone's word for things. I am much the same. Ever since I left Christianity behind me I have a hunger for knowledge along my path. ![]() As far as Kemetic Wicca...well basically take a Wiccan, but instead of them worshiping The God and The Goddess, have them worship specific Deities from Ancient Egyptian Mythology. That would be me. There are also Wiccans that worship Greek, Roman, or Celtic Deities. I don't want to get too carried away with that here though, as it's not the Wicca forum. But, for the record, Anubis holds my heart above the rest of Them. I can't put it into words...

I'd recommend Budge and Webb for further information on how Set has been viewed historically and today. Also the modern understanding of Ancient Khem/Egypt seems to point to the Osirian myth being a latter addition if I understand correctly. Again, Webb's work and his citations would help to elucidate such for those truly interested.
Various sections of Stephen Flowers' "Lords of the Left-Hand Path" offer some information on the ancient Set worship in Egypt and then among the Gnostics, along with further citations for personal research. Not sure if the rest of the book would be much interest to you, but for me it has been an overall interesting study. I offer this an other links not in an attempt to sway your thoughts but just in the only avenues I am aware of offering such information. I'm not a member of the ToS, though I am researching the possibility of joining as their philosophy does greatly interest me considering my own work, among other things, so I only speak for myself on any of these matters, thus the reason for pointing you to the sources from whence I drew my synthesis. I had seen some statues on the web a while back, as I come across those bookmarks I shall post them. Best wishes on your adventures. Xeper & Remanifest! - W. |

For enchanted_one_1975 and anyone else so inclined, these are some links I discovered while researching a similar subject :
Ramesside Amulets - historical statues Red-haired, ***-eared Set - historical info Set, God of Storms, Slayer of Apep, Equal to and Rival of Horus... - historical info and statues Seth Egyptian Statues | Sekhem - Egyptian statues, jewelry, herbs, incense and more. - modern day statues I'm not familiar with the background behind SekHem online, so please look into such before ordering. I'm averse to people trying to profit from other cultures when they care little about them (ie. much of the stuff you find in many more common 'occult' catalogs and publishers) edit - not to say that someone from another culture cannot produce decent items for another or with images of beings from another if they actually care about such. |
