I spoke too soon. Dennett is not a good writer, after all, and proves one of my aphorisms: You can never overestimate the stupidity of people; just when you think you've seen it all, someone comes along who's more stupid than you imagined possible--and people who think they're intelligent.

What does that have to do with anything? You made a comment about an author being extremely stupid because you disagree with his views, and I said that it was ironic because the same thing I quoted you saying could be said about you.

No, I said he was stupid because he's stupid and ill-informed. If you're really interested in how/why we create our worldview, religious or non-religious, you're not going to isolate a part of life and set your sights on it.

Like I said, I have no problem with a scientific study of religion. It might even do some good, but it reminds me of a study they did some years back on love. They found some interesting things, including not being able to understand it.
