Did science steal your religion? If so, how did it manage to do that? If not, why not?

Yes, it did, because I was raised in a literalist church. I was being told that the Bible is the literal word of God, then found out that this notion is a bunch of BS during my failed attempt to make what I knew to be true via the scientific method mesh with what I wished to be true that I was being taught on Sunday.
BTW, my dad is a deacon at a southern baptist church and a grade school science teacher, so go figure how I turned out this screwed up. B.

I went to chapel (sunday school etc) as a child, but i never became religious, prob due to the simultaneous presence of science. It was the same chapel Rowan Williams the arch bishop attended as a child actually.

No, Buddhism and science are generally compatible. Most Buddhists are excited when new scientific discovery is made especially that which pertains to the origins of life.

No. I learned about science long before I learned about religion.

Science beat up my Religion and stole its milk money. After my Religion started crying, Science waited by the water tower and gave my Religion a wedgie.

Why should I believe God is behind the biggest "unknowns" in the universe today such as the origin of life, birth of the universe, etc when it turned out He wasn't behind all the other "unknowns" such as disease, thunderstorms, sunrise, seasons...? I'm just one step ahead of the game ![]() |
