I might agree, except that everyone determines their own beliefs. As such people get whatever meaining and explaination they want from their own beliefs.

For me science and religion don't conflict. They just answer different questions. or different aspects of a question.

I love good science, but the problem is thus: that Scientific empiricists, those who conduct experiments and gather data from observations, are not as qualified to determine what the results properly infer about reality (ie. the facts of what the evidence available is actually evidence of) as the philosophers of science they generally disdain. Scientists today attempt to perform both functions, ie. experiment and then tell us what they think the results mean, but for me the empiricists and philosophers of science must be seperate specialist disciplines that are not (as presently) estranged from each other, but rather working together to produce ever yet more accurate facts about reality.

Secondly, all scientists must embrace the notion of Objective reality to proceed in any meaningful way, but that position is philosophically and scientifically untenable, being not a proven truth but merely a conceit to facilitate functionality.

Then there is people's natual distrust of closed, elitist groups of self-described intellectuals who fancy themselves the makers of the future. Groups whose influence on politics and business is not accountable to the public. The scientist is among such groups, generally.

Finally, scientists are human and thus prone to error. Scientific misconduct is rife in the underbelly of the discipline, results and conclusions get falsified for the satisfaction of corporate and political power-interests (for example, Drug companies and testing of their products), so they cannot be relied upon as much as people would like to believe they can. Bottom line is, you can't accept scientific dogma any more than you can religious dogma, so don't parrot "Science says..." this, that or the other, until you've verified the truth of the matter in your own experience (by studying the experimental data privately). Just like spirituality, same principle.

Im not very smart science wise...But what I understand makes sense to me..Like an overgrowth of bacteria causes infection..or cancerous cells grow faster than healthy cells and attack or suffaocate them....If a duck doesnt lay on her eggs they die and never hatch..if you dont drink water(or get enough fluid intake however it may be) you dehydrate and evetntually die..(in a short lenght of time too)...

The fact that the minute we are concieved we start dying is fact..Not fiction.I'll send ya'll a picture of my 94 year old grandmother as scientific proof!!!
