frankly maro, i find it boring. i don't care. heck, you could tell the the Quran gives urrefutable proof of the theory of reletivity and i wouldn't do much blinking.
what inspires me to look kindly upon Islam is not muslims pulling Quran verses out of a hat. what impresses me is muslims' piety, tollerance, and ability to live out their faith positively in a world where it can be much easier to do just the opposite.

ah yes........and the Q'uran also claims that the sun sets in a steamy mud bog...that mountains are "nailed" to the earth.......gee.............science? I do not for a second believe it to be "science"

I have been "checking" their math (as any good mathematican should do) and it is actually completely wrong... They fudge their numbers to obtain the numbers they want. It isn't very obvious the way they fudge their numbers though... A quick example of how they fudge their numbers in the first two claims is: Lets say I divide 1 day by 5 seconds.... We should get 1/5 days/seconds... On this site, however, they always drop the days/second part... Then when they do the computation they randomly stick on whatever measurements they want... This would be more impressive if the math was done without cheating... The above is for claim 1 and 2... Claim three does some impressive "magician" work... They start making their claim, then half way through proving it, they prove some other thing, then when they get back to their main proof they hope you forgot some things... The Quran says 1 day on earth is like 1000 years in heaven and hell (more evidence apparently for time dilation and general relativity and what not)... Then after this they prove some other stuff that I don't think I should have to disprove =p, then when they get back to the proof they state that the Quran knew about general relativity because heaven is bigger than hell which is bigger than the earth. This would work only if heaven and hell had different times... Since they have the same time, this doesn't work. Claim 4 about the Quran predicting pulsars and black holes is the same as any other claim from any other religious book... No math, just looking at the words and interpreting too much from them. Claim that the Quran predicted worm holes... Same as the above... Claim that the Quran predicted dark matter and gravitational lensing same as above... Quick note on dark matter though... This is a huge scientific guess... From the laws we have observed scientists realize that there is not enough mass in the galaxy to make it work the way it does... So they decided there is mass we cannot see, we call it dark matter. (I actually read a creationist scientific paper that reports the dark matter is likely the hand of god).... Just noting that as more discveries are made the description of dark matter will likely change and the explanation given here by the Quran will have to change =p So, in short... All of the math on this site is fudged to suit the creators needs and the rest of the explanations are the same as any other religious site trying to prove their religious book with science. |

actually I am a medical student and not a good mathematican as you are that's why I am sure that the embryological stages mentioned in the quran are very accurate description but I don't claim that I am sure about the Maths in this link so if they were not accurate as u say , May Allah forgive me for that I hope a muslim who is good in maths, may check that and tell me |

www.answering-christianity.com/sci_quran.htm Here it claims that the cat's eye nebula is red and it shows that the Quran passage that says when galaxies explode they become red is right... http://www.astro.washington.edu/bali...2/catseye.jpeg This seems to be the same picture used before except this shows the Cat's Eye Nebula to be green! Gasp! Oh wait, science colors the pictures themselves... Its not to mislead or anything, they use colors to represent certain things... In the green picture shows the doubly ionized oxygen, blue represents neutral oxygen and red shows the location of slightly ionized atoms... It seems in the picture the Islam site was hand picked because it showed the doubly ionized oxygen as red instead of green so it fits their passage.... |

How about this: Instead of hurling websites, someone here who wishes to assert that the Quran clearly knows something that it clarly should not know give a single example (perhaps two) and defend it?
So, what is your absolute best argument? |
