1. Scientists want to stop people from believing anything that can't be explained through a scientific theory. If you can't collect evidence for or against it, science says it's false.
2. If someone with no knowledge in a particular field can't entirely understand a complex idea from that field, a bunch of snooty scientists in suits must have just made it up, knowing no one would call them on it. (Oddly enough, few people hesitate to undergo medical procedures they couldn't begin to understand, which were developed using the scientific method.) 3. When scientists pursue a study which may have results which question a religion's doctrine, they are only studying that so they can thumb their nose at religious people, not because they're curious about it on its own merit. |
