(sorry about the sacing at the start) "A new embryo test offers couples at risk of serious genetic diseases a greater chance of having an unaffected baby through IVF, UK scientists say." I’m personally all for this, I don’t feel its messing with nature really and I also don’t think it’s a bad thing. Stopping people being born with horrible debilitating diseases is far from designer baby’s, and will help a lot of families. |

However, some campaigners have questioned the morality of such screening tests, as they inevitably lead to the destruction of some embryos.This may sound inconsistent. I think it's immoral to abort a fetus because of some genetic defect it may have. However, the destruction of some embryos is a normal part of IVF, so if a couple is having IVF anyway, I can't see where selecting the healthiest embryos is immoral.
