In order to compare science and religion in that way, you first have to assume that they can both be tested in the same way. But, they can't. Science is a collection of ideas that gets studied and perhaps later becomes fact. Religion also is a collection of ideas that cannot become fact for the simple reason that we have not developed a system that can prove or disprove the existance of God.
