aliens and the bible
i am unclear about this. is the existence of aliens (intelligent life living somewhere other than earth) not consistant with what the bible says? if a space ship full of volcans were to land infront of the white house tommorow would this prove the bible is wrong concerning other life? would it cause a religious riot throughout the world?

I think they can find some way to read some quote of the bible in some different way, making the bible in some way correct again.

I don't know about the arrival of Vulcans but life existing elswhere than Earth is certainly scriptural. Haven't you ever heard the song "He came from heaven to earth to show us the way...."

 You need to read Hebrews 11. It talks about things accomplished through faith.Verse 34 reads: "Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens."

That is hilarious, Nutshell. I do not believe it is addressed, either way in that way, and Bouncing Ball is correct that many consider the bible to be open to interpretation. Literalists may have a big problem accepting it, though.

I don't think the mjority of people who have faith based upon what the Bible says would care, if their faith were to be shattered so easily, they'd have to question why they believed in the first place.
