Druidus-- There is an enormous amount of evidence that would lead us to conclude with very high confidence that you will be here in 5 seconds. Past is definitely a good indication of future. If you combine an acid and a base, it will explode, and if you do it again, it will still explode. If I do it again in the future, once again it will explode. If past experiences never gave us any clue as to what will happen in the future, science wouldn't work and we could never figure things out. Science does work, however, and knowledge gained in the past is a good tool for understanding the future.

I kinda touched on this with another thread I had four months or so ago...
Druidus--If you believe in Magik and teleportation and such, and I'm assuming that a fair number of others do as well (all the other druids), then why doesn't someone prove it to the scientific community. The burden of truth lies on the challenger... it is this way in science, the legal system, and many other things. I for one, would be very interested in the prospects of what you are saying, but without some sort of justification, you can only sound rediculous. I'm gullible... If a booming voice from the sky says HEY! Jesus is right, follow him, I'm there. If it says be a muslim, it's all good. If you teleport next to me and personally tell me that magik is real, party on, but that needs to happen for me to over-ride human skepticism. |
