As far as Pranic healing is concerned, I would submit that that is out of the realms of 'Miracles' , and well within the laws of basic nature- as are the plethora of alternative methods of healing, from acupuncture to reflexology. That is no Miracle, I am sorry to say. In truth I would be one of the first to be delighted to accept a Miracle - but until I hear of one, I will have to keep my feet planted firmly on the ground, and make sure that my head is not 'somewhere in the clouds'.

There are the hundreds of doctors who officially check whether miracles really happen at Lourdes, by thoroughly investigating over each patient claiming to be cured by a pilgrimage.
A miracle is "an extraordinary event, believed to be due to a benevolent divine intervention, to which is attributed a spiritual significance." Today, after intense medical and ecclesiastical refinement, the recognition of a cure or miracle requires four stages. The miracles of Lourdes Submission to an examination by the medical bureau of Lourdes When a pilgrim claims a cure he or she is examined by the pilgrimage doctor before being referred to the doctors at the medical bureau, which was established in 1947. This body is responsible for the first level of assessment when validating a cure. The pilgrim, along with their case notes, is examined by the presiding doctors, all witnessed by the rector of the sanctuary and the pilgrim's priest. The medical criteria for a cure must be satisfied.

I notice there are no entries for scoliosis... darn, I bet it would be cheaper to go there and have my back fixed with a miracle than getting surgery.
Is there a list of people who have gone for a cure and didn't get one? |

I've been to three of the best doctors in the region... I'll trust them before some random site. My scoliosis has progressed beyond 50 degrees... 45-50 degrees is the average 'degree of no return,' where studies have shown that people who don't have surgery to correct it get steadily worse each year, usually to the tune of one degree a year.

DR MARTHA HAWES was diagnosed with "moderately severe thoradic scoliosis" at the age of 11. She managed to keep her condition stable during her youth and, at the age of 40, managed to reverse the condition despite the popular belief that scoliosis during adulthood is untreatable.
She achieved this using a combination of exercise-based mobilisation therapies' in partnership with her osteopathic physician. Her thoracic curve went from from 47 to 28 degrees, and her lumbar curve from 26 to 13 degrees. Dr Hawes was surprised at her own recovery. Being a research scientist - she is a professor at Arizona University - she decided to consult the medical library to find out why. She found about 10,000 scientific papers on the subject and, after reviewing them over a period of three years, realised that her recovery was not all that surprising after all. |

Seeing as how my curve jumped from 18 degrees to 50 in four years, I'm not going to take the chance that it'll keep up that pace of increase.
... then again, we're (supposed to be) talking about miracles, not how a woman managed to beat scoliosis before it got to her degree of no return. |

"After measuring it all out, it had decreased by nine degrees, which is very significant," Dr. McCaulisse states. "That intervention is nothing short of a miracle." http://www.cbn.com/700club/features/...a_mcdowell.asp
