I am currently tossing around a "theory" about the physical location of heaven and hell. It is more of a brain teaser than a true belief. According to this "theory", Heaven and Hell are each separate planets in outer space. This idea came to me during a college class in which the prof was discussing the idea that the universe is expanding, supposedly as an effect of the Big Bang. I got to mulling this thought over and wondered if the universe wasn't expanding because God was trying to keep humans from reaching Heaven. There are several Biblical references which can be interpreted as support of this "theory". I won't go into them much because I haven't done enough research to strongly argue this as a "true" idea, but I think it is definitely an interesting notion. *I put theory in quotes because I don't really belief this idea. However, I am definitely thinking of putting it in writing and trying to find more solid support for it, purely for the heck of it.

Heaven is a couple of acres of land with an old farmhouse and a white picket fence that I call home.

I feel that when you die, you know if you've endeavored to do good or bad in your life. It is in this final moment, which can seem to last an eternity, that we sentence ourselves to rejoice in heaven or suffer in hell.
Heaven would be waking up every morning on a tropical beach or in the mountains looking accross a field of wildflowers into a lake. Either scenario would be accompanied by a hot redhead and cold beer. ![]() Hell would be back in the hood in Detroit fighting every day to stay alive and falling asleep to the sounds of sirens, gunshots, and desparate screams every night. ![]()

You sound like the kind of person I'd love to crack a couple of cold ones with and prattle away a sunny day. Since I can't do that though, I'll close my eyes and imagine what your heaven must look like, have a nice glass of burgundy, and wish you and yours many long years of peace and tranquility in your beautiful world. Faust.

As previously stated I think most would consider Heaven to be more than just a physical place. I imagine the idea of heaven in the sky and hell in the ground is more for children to help them grasp the idea. You can't really tell a 3 year old that your spirit goes to a heaven that is not of this world.
I get told a lot that heaven is just being one with god for eternity and hell is an eternal seperation from god. While I'm pretty seperated from god now and it isn't bad at all. In fact if this is true hell can be a pretty damned nice and happy place.

Well,
I don't call where we go heaven or hell since I am Wiccan. But there is an afterlife much life heaven. It is not a physical existance. It is on another plane of existance. I do not believe we will ever completely understand the "where it is" since I don't believe it holds a single place. Hell, I believe is earth. Why else would we have so much suffereing here?
