This is the second computer I've bought. My first was an e-Machine (the cheapest on the market) 6 years ago. I paid more for it, and this is insanely better. Ah! the speed of technology. I'm still trying to figure out how this thing makes coffee.

Hopefully, you guys should see me on more often, now that there are two computers in the house again!

From what i hear (freinds at school with Acer laptops) that they are pretty poor and are great for like a few months... Once you start downloading stuff, it just goes crazy and goes into a mid life crisis...

The bolded would indicate a software failure, not necessarily a hardware failure.

The reason some of us do not like dell is the quality of the laptop itself. I have a Inspiron 6000 and while it has been good to me, I really wish I bought a thinner laptop with a tougher casing. Its too thick and the casing is easily damaged, chipped and cracked.

The first family computer was a Commodore VIC20 followed by an Atari 800.
My first computer was an IBM 8088.
It was brand new and came with the latest and greatest version of Dos...2

Heh... the Eagle originally came with CPM/86. We had to go out and buy DOS specially.
