Before the big bang there was no time, space and time did not exist for a god to have time to create anything.
makes sense to me, theres no god. he also eluded to much of what Neal Degrasse Tyson states in that god has only filled the gaps of ignorant ancient men's minds. they didnt know squat about the natural world around them and attributed it to deities. its probably why we quit creating deities in this modern time the first place, mythology has been pushed so far back, theres no room for magic sky daddies that make it rain and make it so herds breed well enough to keep the family fed. |

He didn't claim gods didn't exist. He did show them to be redundant and unnecessary.

And considering that God is generally portrayed as being outside the bounds of the universe, how is this relevant?

Even if there were nothing before the big bang that still wouldn't do a thing to disprove the gods of the ancients, since nearly all mythology agrees the gods were born from the universe

Hawkings eludes to there being no creator god. Thats great but Buddha was already saying that thousands of years ago.
