The required genetic modifications are far too severe to be viable.

Not that I wouldn't love a set of functional wings... to fly under ones own power is one of humankind's oldest dreams.

I'm more concerned with the ethics of patenting genes than sci-fi human-animal hybrids.

Need I remind anyone that it was Reagan that allowed for public universities to take grant money from private corporations in their research? What do you think is the money-driving factor here, science or the profitable possibilities that science can create?
