There is a chance that there is a posibility that there might be a small chance that my good fortune isn't just random chance creating posibility to have random acts of good fortune but i doubt it seems like a long shot

No the feeling I feel when that happens is distinct from the feeling I feel when the good is caused by another person. In the latter case I appreciate the other person whilst in the former I appreciate my life as a whole.
Unless a theist believes that God is micromanaging the world for our own benefit then I suspect that appreciating God when something good happens can only be felt indirectly. Even so, the theist will still appreciate being alive even if they focus on appreciating God for giving them this life. Therefore, what the atheist feels is probably easy enough for the theist to understand. It is the appreciation of life without the appreciation of what caused us to live.
